NPD Assistant

My client is a small independent business looking for either a graduate or someone with a 1 to 2 years’ experience in an NPD 
Working closely with the Product Development Manager 

Your responsibilities will include:
•Tasting of samples 
•Formulation of products (excel spreadsheets). 
•Keeping records of all work undertaken 
•Preparation of product formulations, with product development projects and the current product portfolio.
•Liaising with all staff in other departments. Liaising with suppliers and occasionally members of the Sales team, Marketing Department and Directors and also customers.
•Requesting raw material samples and flavours from external suppliers. Occasionally helping with sourcing new ingredients and new suppliers. 
•Organising samples to be sent to Directors, Sales team, Customers and Suppliers.
•Preparation and organisation of product tasting panels.
•Liaising with suppliers to request raw materials for use in the department.
•Up keep of the lab and office in a clean and tidy condition along with all other staff.
•Rotation of PD lab raw materials and replenishment. Ensuring lab consumables, equipment and stock flavour samples do not run out.

The ideal candidate will be 
•Degree qualified in a food related subject, however, this is not essential 
•Have a good understanding of formulation
•Reasonable maths skills.
•Good communication skills on the telephone would be very helpful with this.
