The role purpose is to ensure the achievement of business objectives with the manufacturing process.
The role holder is required to use all resources at their disposal to achieve this, including staff, process & machinery.
You will be required to manage large teams comprising permanent and fixed term staff from Process Operative up to Supervisor level, have operational responsibility - report key performance indicators (KPI), facilitate morning operation meetings and ensure good manufacturing practice (GMP) within their department. Deputise for Manufacturing Controller on select duties when required to do so.
Manufacturing Excellence - Facilitate projects and participate in business improvement projects when required. The role holder should use business techniques such as '5s' within the department to achieve department objectives.
Health & Safety - ensure good H&S practice is observed within each department

Good communicator able to deal with a number of different departments and a good team player
Managerial experience and skills
Business or managerial qualifications not essential but experience in a food manufacturing environment is as is some form of managerial experience.
The job often requires work on shift patterns or unsocial hours with seasonal fluctuations depending on the department and product being produced.
Working within a food manufacturing environment - good hygiene required.
