Process Operative - Melton Mowbray

Come and join the Dairy Process team at our Melton Mowbray creamery in Leicestershire which produces award winning Stilton. Due to volume demands, we are looking to recruit an additional 2 staff into our team to join us by end of June 2019 on a full time contract. This is a great opportunity to gain experience as a valued Operative within one of the world's biggest dairy producers, and contribute to making food that is loved by millions.

About the role

Working 10 hour shifts in a friendly and diverse team, you will keep everything in your area clean, safe and working perfectly. Your role will be supporting the cheese makers, producing high quality Stilton. Operating equipment in the Dairy Process area - solving problems, learning new things and speaking up if you think something can be done better.

The shifts are generally Sunday, Monday, Thursday, Friday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, then the pattern repeats back to Sunday. This is volume dependent. Shifts can change to reflect the volume. Hours are 40 per week, generally 6am to 4pm or 07:30am to 5:30pm. Most importantly at end of every shift, you will be able to see the contribution you have made to creating some of the world's favourite dairy products.

We make healthy taste delicious, mornings worth getting up for, and family dinners unforgettable. Cravendale®, Anchor®, Lurpak® and Castello® - names like these make us a vital, natural part of modern life in over 100 countries worldwide.

About you

A motivated team player with a sharp eye for detail, you will have ideally worked in a production or manufacturing environment before, so you know all about following processes and sticking to health and safety rules. It's therefore vital you are numerate and literate so you can understand and read all signage, and are able to communicate well as our sites run on teamwork. What's more, you're as serious about quality as we are - and ready to work hard to achieve it.
