Packing/Production Operative (Contract)

Come and join the Packing team at our Melton Mowbray creamery which produces award winning Stilton. Due to seasonal demands, we are looking to recruit a team of 14 directly employed contract Operatives to join us at the beginning of August for a 19-week period. This is a great opportunity to gain experience as a valued Operative within one of the world's biggest dairy producers, and contribute to making food that is loved by millions.

About the role

Working weekday shifts in a friendly and diverse team. You'll keep everything in your area clean, safe and working perfectly. Your role with primarily be packing products for various customers, operating equipment in the packing area too - solving problems, learning new things and speaking up if you think something can be done better.

The shift is a Monday to Friday role, days only, and the great news is there's no weekends! Hours are approx 48 per week, 7am to 5pm Monday to Thursday and 7am to 3pm on a Friday. The last 6 weeks of the contract will see you drop onto shifts for the Christmas production again Monday to Thursday 6am to 2 pm and 2pm to 9pm, Friday 6am to 12:30 pm and 12:30pm to 7pm So, as well as the joy of avoiding rush hour commutes, you'll be able to fit your work around your lifestyle. Most importantly at end of every shift, you'll be able to see the contribution you've made to creating some of the world's favourite dairy products.

We make healthy taste delicious, mornings worth getting up for, and family dinners unforgettable. Cravendale®, Anchor®, Lurpak® and Castello® - names like these make us a vital, natural part of modern life in over 100 countries worldwide.

About you

A motivated team player with a sharp eye for detail. You've ideally worked in a packing, production or manufacturing environment before, so you know all about following processes and sticking to health and safety rules. It's therefore vital you are numerate and literate so you can understand and read all signage, and are able to communicate well as our sites run on teamwork. What's more, you're as serious about quality as we are - and ready to work hard to achieve it.
