This is a fantastic opportunity for a very driven and talented individual to work for an award-winning and progressive food business. With an international supply base in over 20 countries, the company is exponentially growing year on year, increasing their presence in the UK Food Industry.
The Buyer will be working in a small team and be responsible in undertaking all activities relating to sourcing individual products. You will take a pro-active role in the company and will also support the sales team in their commercial negotiations with the customer base.
You will develop and maintain commercial relationships with all existing and new suppliers, maintain expert knowledge of assigned product groups, assist with tender submissions, collaborate with the Technical team on supplier quality issues, research new markets as required, manage product supply to meet the business needs including stock levels plus manage contracts and the timely delivery of products, including correct packaging and quality.
You will be a holder of a 2.1 or above in a relevant business, commercial, supply chain, purchasing/procurement or related degree and be ambitious with a strong desire to progress in a fast-paced business. You will possess a solid track record within a buying or procurement role within the food manufacturing industry/FMCG and a second language such as Spanish or French would be beneficial. To succeed, you will have strong communication and negotiation skills and be highly organised together with strong commercial and financial management skills.
The Buyer job is based in the South East / Home Counties region and is paying £38,000 plus excellent benefits including company pension, healthcare and life cover.
