Technical Sales Specialist (Food Industry)


Help establish Grasselli’s new UK operation, in this free-ranging key account / new business role. Sell our world-beating machinery to the food processing industry.

When you see finely sliced processed meats or perfectly portioned steaks in your supermarket chiller cabinet or local restaurant, there’s a good chance that Grasselli’s technology is behind it. We’ve been supplying the UK and Eire food industry for over 3 decades and our slicing, skinning and portioning equipment sets the standard for precision, quality and productivity.

This year we're taking a major step forward, by establishing Grasselli UK. The new company will bring our UK and Eire sales, marketing, distribution and technical support activities in-house and we’ll be moving into a purpose-built headquarters shortly.

 It’s an exciting new chapter for the Grasselli business. Would you like to be a part of it?

Your role

There’s one thing we should immediately stress. This is a start-up operation, albeit one backed by a large, longstanding international company. So, we’re looking for someone who can pitch in and play a part in establishing the operation, its systems and blueprint.

You’ll report to our Sales Manager, but you’ll have a lot of control over your own workload, which will involve key account management and new business / market development across a large area of the UK and Eire.

There’ll be sales targets to hit, which of course won’t faze you, and responsibility for planning and maximising your territory. You’ll likely be traveling four nights a week, so it’s important you can work well in a virtual office and as a remote team member.

Over the past years we’ve created multiple unique products. We’re a growth business, so excel in this role and there’ll be plenty of opportunity to grow with us. Your training will begin with a thorough introduction to our technical product range, but that will be just the start!

About you

  • Excellent prospector, presenter and relationship builder, who is used to selling to senior managers;
  • At least some of your technical field sales experience should be in the meat or wider food processing industry;
  • Impressive record of hitting sales targets and servicing key accounts;
  • Good all-round sales planner and administrator, skilled in MS Office;
  • Ready and able to travel widely and operate from your hotel room.
