You will be working for a family-owned business which has undergone tremendous success and is now one of the leading supplies within their product sector.
You will carry out the inspection and testing of products, inputting data onto the computer system, completing all QA/QC records, ensure date coding and labelling complies with customer specifications, identify products which do not meet standards, calibrate measuring devices, conduct internal hygiene and fabrication audits plus ensure a good standard of hygiene and GMP is maintained at all times.
You will be a holder of a food related degree and/or possess previous experience of working within food production, ideally within a quality assurance/control related role. You will have good knowledge of food safety standards and knowledge or retailer codes of practice is a distinct advantage. To succeed, have high attention to detail, the ability to prioritise and can work independently. A driving licence is essential due to the rural site location.
The QC Technician job is based in the Midlothian region and is paying £18,000 - £22,000 according to individual skills and previous experience. The working hours are 5 days per week, with a mixture of early, day and late shifts.
