As Technical Assistant, the purpose of your role is to support the technical department in maintaining product quality, safety and legality throughout the business by ensuring procedures within the company are followed.
You will monitor quality issues relating to raw material, WIP and finished goods, assist in the management of technical functions including microbiology, traceability and non-conformances, assist with the management of product complaints, complete internal audits, attend NPD handovers and monitor once in production, carry out regular checks on documents throughout the site and cover QA as required.
This role would suit somebody who is currently working in a QA related role within food manufacturing and is looking to move into technical, or perhaps a recent food graduate who is looking to kick-start their food industry technical career. Any previous technical food production experience is an advantage. To succeed you will need to be methodical with excellent attention to detail, have good communication skills and be IT literate.
The Technical Assistant job is based in the South West / South Coast UK region and is paying £20,000 - £22,000 according to individual skills and previous experience. The working hours are Monday to Friday, 8am – 5pm, however some flexibility will be required during peak times.
