Every now and then, you get the opportunity to recruit for something truly exciting…
This is one of those times. The role itself is straightforward, if you know anything about Food Manufacturing and operating at Technical Manager / Technical Services Manager or even QA Manager level then you know what a Technical Manager does each day. I'm not going to say that this role is any different.
The difference is the business and more importantly the people that make it. I wouldn't say this is a huge business, on the contrary - it certainly isn't small either, let's just say that it's medium sized.
They've been about for years now, they probably setup around the time my Nanna was born. As the years have passed by they've steadily grown, they've never let go of who they are but remained true to their traditional values.
It's a funny time in the Food industry at the moment. Everyone is feeling the squeeze, us as a consumer, suppliers, retailers, everyone! Even through these 'squeezy' times, my client continues to grow and more importantly evolve.
As things stand, they have a good Technical team in place. As with all businesses, things could improve but you're not going in there to 'fix' it. This role is about the long term. The people side is everything! Don't get me wrong, there are going to be a number of customers that you're responsible for. Based on your decisions you're either getting a Christmas card or your face is going up on a dartboard in their canteen…
The senior management team in this place isn't like any other. I can't really say much on an advert which is why you'll have to click apply so we can have a chat. There's a lot I can't cover in the advert so again, click apply and we can chat. I will make a point however, you need to be capable of operating at Technical Manager level supplying retail, food service and other manufacturers. This isn't a "end of my career" type of role. I want someone hungry, on the up, driven, ambitious - all of those lovely things!
