Key Accountabilities

This is an ideal role for someone looking to develop new business, handle a global key account within this exciting and innovative ingredients sector.  You will be responsible for building your account through proactive and planned development of the business.  This is a home based sales role, and should be commutable to the Bedford area, where the successful candidate will be three days a week.  There will be travel both within the UK and overseas, mostly in Europe. You will need to be able to develop strong relationships and have not just good sales skills, but also excellent listening skills to be able to act upon the needs of the bsuiness. you will have the drive and tenacity to manage projects, that are often complex, through to completion.  It is likely that you will have extensive experience of managing global key accounts, and this will be a great advantage to applicants.  The successful candidate will have an excellent and current understanding of the commercial side of the raw materials market. 

Personal Profile

  • A food or science related degree or equivalent relevant experience
  • 5+ years of key account management experience in the food industry, preferably with global key accounts
  • Good relationship builder with both customers and manufacturing partners with a “can do” attitude
  • A good understanding of the commercial aspects of food science and how it relates to NPD
  • Highly developed negotiation and reporting skills
  • An organised individual with a level of independence and professionalism
  • Strong proven experience in driving projects through from concept to fruition
  • Clear understanding of the ingredients market
  • Able to deliver a good quality of service for customers
  • The role will be embedded at the customer's Global R&D center
  • Travelling to other relevant customer sites, around Europe, forms an integral part of the role
  • Fluent language skills in English
