As the Shift Manager you will be on a Monday-Friday, Shift Pattern which includes Morning and Afternoons and my client are wanting to see candidates who are looking to progress quickly with a Supervisor or management background.

My client are a large, Manufacturing business based in Mansfield and will be looking to open a new site in the near future. Due to these expansion plans my client is looking to recruit a new Shift Leader on a Monday-Friday, Shift Pattern which includes Morning and Afternoons. As the Shift Manager you will have a team of around 20.



Description

Reporting directly into the Production Manager based in Mansfield as the Shift Manager you will have a team of 20-40 employees, and will be working in a fast paced, Manufacturing environment.

The company currently have Production Team Leaders in place, so part of your responsibility will be to improve and motivate this team.

The main duties for the role will include:

The role is to lead an integrated team of operators in the achievement of performance targets in a designated area of the factory.

In addition, the role will have responsibility for continuously improving performance in the section by engaging team members and promoting best practice, machine reliability and personnel accountability.

You will be a vital link in the factory management structure, as it plays a key role in ensuring that the factory is as efficient, flexible and competitive as it possibly can be.

You will create a real positive environment on the shop floor, encouraging operators to take ownership for monitoring machine performance, collecting data and generating ideas and solutions. In addition, you will set clear provision of objectives which will be critical for sections to achieve their targets.

Profile

To apply for the position of Shift Manager based in Mansfield, you will have a background in a Supervisory or Production Management position due to having the responsibility of a large team of employees. A Manufacturing understanding is also very important and any qualifications within Engineering, Lean Six Sigma or Quality would also prove beneficial.



Job Offer

This position will be based on a Monday-Friday, Shift Pattern which includes Morning and Afternoons. My client are wanting to see candidates who are looking to progress quickly and the salary for this position will be £25,000 - £32,000.
