Client Details
In operation since the 1980's, my client is an incredibly well known manufacturer of both own label and branded snack products. With over 300 different products manufactured across the 2 sites, and 100,000 tonnes of snacks produced every year, this is a fast paced environment where the Assistant Health & Safety Advisor will need to be able to keep up the pace.
Description
The key responsibilities are:
- Site Health and Safety Audit
- Accident/incident/ and near miss management and reporting
- Comprehensive accident investigations being completed within 72 hours
- Health and Safety training compliance and the maintenance of all relevant documents.
- Ensuring all required risk assessments, are carried out suitably, always considering how risks could be reduced
- Update and make suggestions to improve the Safe Working Practices to ensure safety and compliance to legislation is maintained at all times
- Ensuring all first aid services are in place and adequately maintained
- Providing support to the Health and Safety manager by deputising and assisting with division projects as and when required
- Providing expert knowledge and advice on specialist areas e.g. Fire Regulations, Hazardous Substances, Workplace transport, Working at Height and Occupational Health etc.
- Ensuring all RIDDOR documents are completely to the required timescales
- Maintain up to date knowledge of professional Health and Safety standards and legal requirements.
Profile
The successful candidate would:
- Degree educated in a food related BSc
- Thorough understanding of the H&S requirements of manufacturing and at least 3 internships or 2 years' experience within the industry
- Ideally IOSH qualified
- IT literate
- Full UK driving licence (in order to be able to travel between sites)
- Ability to deliver training
