Technical Manager  - Nottingham

Salary range £40,000 - £45,000

Food Innovations is a rapidly expanding dynamic  business supplying  home baking products   for the major supermarkets  own label  ranges as well as other home baking businesses within the UK.

We are excited to be advertising for a Technical Manager to join the Technical Department within this fast paced and highly rewarding business. 

Reporting directly to the Head of Technical,  this is a critical role that is relied upon to ensure business compliance and product integrity, as well as developing and maintaining excellent customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities to include:

• Lead and manage all site audits

• Ensure that the enforcement bodies’ requirements are fully adhered to

• To develop and implement  a Total Quality Management system in order to implement Food safety, Quality and Legality

• Analyse and maintain data for generating technical KPIs

• To maintain BRC accreditation at an A grade or above

• Ensure all service suppliers are managed, audited and accreditation is maintained where required (e.g. 3rd party warehousing)

• Investigate and close off all customer complaints through the technical team

• Investigate and enforce corrective action on internal and external non-conformances

• Microbiology regime fully implemented

• Manage and develop the Quality Assurance  team

• Other duties as deemed necessary to support the team

• Drive improvement through management and continuous review/development of the HACCP and Quality management systems

• Manage, review and develop the site TACCP and Allergen management systems

• Ensure customer service levels, both internal and external, are maintained at all times with relationships being maintained and developed

Key Deliverables

• Maintain BRC  A grade

• Maintain higher level graded customer audits

• Customer complaint levels/reduction

• HACCP, retailers’ systems and standards requirements, BRC V 7, food law

• Ingredient, product & packaging

• Allergen and TACCP risk assessment systems

• Non-food product knowledge


• At least 5 years in a technical function

• Team management experience

• BRC experience essential

• Retailer experience desirable
