As the (Days Based) Mechanical Maintenance Engineer you will be responsible for maintaining the condition of all manufacturing and packaging machinery and associated equipment. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm. This role has been newly created to support the business's exciting growth plans.

Description

As the Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you will support the Engineering Manager and your fellow colleagues to ensure a culture of planned, world class maintenance and best in class practices. Further responsibilities will include, but not be limited to;
  • Ensure that all manufacturing, packaging and utilities equipment is maintained so that the operations can operate in an optimal manner and meet all production targets.
  • Ensure that HSE standards are met and adhered to at all times.
  • Develop and execute the planned maintenance program for all site equipment.
  • React to all breakdowns in a safe but prompt manner so that any un-planned downtime is kept to a minimum.
  • Maintain the workshop and associated equipment in a professional manner.
  • Monitor and control the utilities equipment to ensure optimal output.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities. This role is expected to put forward ideas to improve processes and product quality.
  • Troubleshooting; report breakdowns and damage caused to equipment and assist where required in resolving the issue.
  • Carry out any other duties as agreed with company management.






Profile

The successful candidate will ideally have completed a mechanical apprenticeship, hold a mechanical qualification to ONC / HNC standard or be qualified by experience. He or she will be passionate about working in a forward thinking, proactive maintenance team and energised by the opportunity to truly add value and make a difference. Further selection criteria will include;
  • Coming from a FMCG background, he or she will have a proven track record of mechanical maintenance engineering with excellent fault finding skills.
  • Whilst the role is Mechanically biased, electrical skills would prove advantageous.
  • The successful candidate will have working knowledge of steam boilers, air compressors and chillers.






Job Offer

c£35,000 to £45,000 (DOE) plus excellent benefits
