The Role

Responsibility and ownership for the assured supply of protein raw material to OSI operations in the UK, from the UK & ROI supply base

Develop, implement and maintain a Strategic Sourcing Strategy that delivers cost competitiveness and consistent price predictability, for key UK client.

Provide leading market expertise and insight in the form of regular market reports & presentations for both internal and external use.

Face to Face interaction with key demonstrating OSI expertise and value to key client.

Key Responsibilities:

Medium to long-term planning & purchasing of raw material for OSI UK manufacturing plants.

Responsibility for  raw material budget, market reports, forecasting, KPI´s and stock control.

Develop and implement cost saving initiatives that deliver measurable value to OSI and key client.

Work alongside OSI’s JV capabilities to create ‘Best in Class’ supplier to our UK client base.

Ensure cross functional communication to SC Managers, Directors and internal/external teams, both in the UK and OSI EU office.

Implement current purchasing resources and processes such as tendering and use of collaboration projects with key suppliers, to negotiate and secure competitive prices of raw materials with current suppliers.

Continuous monitoring of raw material markets to observe market developments.

Manage customer expectations of market trends that impact raw material availability and pricing.

Collaborative working with other departments to develop a streamlined supply chain for regional manufacturing that optimizes current processes ranging from purchasing raw material, quality control, logistics, planning and supply to client.

The Candidate

University degree in Food Science, FMCG or Agriculture would be beneficial

3 - 5 years minimum experience within a purchasing, procurement or commercial assignment

Experience within the meat or poultry category is a must

Excellent communication analytical and negotiation skills.

Entrepreneurial and hands-on mind set.

Experience in the preparation of pricing documents and using financial tools

MS-Office skills and excellent presentation techniques

Articulate and confident
