Food Technologist

The Company

A rare opportunity to join a growing entrepreneurial food brand with global ambitions. The company is expanding and a new Food Technologist position has been created, based at their central London office.

The Role

You’ll be the ‘brand guardian’ with full responsibility for Quality, Food Safety, Legality and Brand Reputation. You will work as part of the Product Team, based at their Head Office, playing a key role in Supplier Management, Governance, Process Innovation as well as making a positive contribution to the company’s NPD Programme. 

You’ll need to develop strong Technical relationships with current and future co-manufacturing partners in the UK and Europe, working closely with them to drive quality improvements and ensure product integrity as well as support the development of new products.

You’ll be ensuring the smooth transition of products from concept to launch and play a key part in the management of product quality and performance, ensuring technical compliance to specifications as well as nutritional and shelf life requirements.

The Person

We’re looking for a bright, capable and driven Food Technologist with superb interpersonal skills. Ideally with a food science / technology degree and a wealth of technical experience from food manufacturing and / or retail environments. If you’ve worked for a food brand before that would be an added bonus.

Of course the usual HACCP, BRC, auditing and quality management systems experience is essential but we need a Food Technologist with a real passion for food and processes. Someone who can embrace new product areas, gets excited about technical innovation and new ingredients.

Developing fair and collaborative relationships with suppliers alongside a love for factories is a must for this role. There will be regular travel to suppliers within the UK and Europe so you will need to have a flexible approach and be able to adapt to the needs of a fast paced business.
