The Company

This entrepreneurial food business supplying a range of customers with delicious and innovative products are looking for an experienced Technical Manager who can also support product innovation. The company is growing, they have recently moved to a new factory and have created this new role to help drive the business forward.

The Role

Reporting to the Managing Director, you’ll be taking responsibility for everything under the Technical and Product Development umbrella, managing a small team that are passionate and dedicated to producing stunning products that make a mark in a competitive sector.

You’ll ensure the smooth day to day running of the technical, quality and NPD departments with a hands-on approach where you are comfortable setting the standards within the factory, training and mentoring your teams.  You will ensure that all technical and quality systems are effective and adhere to government legislation as well as HACCP, Food Safety Law, promoting a ‘right first time’ culture across the factory. This will include guaranteeing non-conformances and that any food safety risks are resolved quickly, effectively and with integrity. You will also oversee the innovation pipeline, working with your NPD team to support them in creating and launching new products. You will ensure your team have the capability to keep pace with company growth as well as help them reach their full potential. 

The Person

Suit an outstanding Technical or Quality Manager with the confidence and charisma to thrive in a high profile role, combining their technical and product development skills in a hands-on, fast paced role. Ideally your experience will come from time spent within a chilled, complex product sector where you have also had time to hone your skills a leader and are now keen to take the step up into a senior management role. You will need to be capable of developing and mentoring teams, working to ensure the right team structure is in place and be able to work with and influence all internal teams. As well as the usual QMS and legislative know-how, experience of implementing and maintaining a BRC system is essential for this role.

As well as having great team management skills you must be technically and commercially switched on with a real passion for food, quality and innovation.
