You will be working for a well-established and highly respected manufacture of speciality products. This business has undergone tremendous success over the last few years, this is therefore an exciting time to join their talented and friendly team.

The job

The purpose of the Packaging Technologist job is to provide the business with technical support to enable the successful selection and purchase of packaging components.

You will independently plan, lead and manage approved packaging related projects, liaising with relevant departments and evaluate packaging options, ensuring they are compatible with brief requirements and suitable to meet the production constraints of the business, selecting appropriate suppliers and liaising with purchasing on price negotiation as appropriate.

Your experience

You will be educated to a degree standard in a packaging or scientific area or equivalent experience and possess practical knowledge and experience of a range of packaging materials, processes and manufacturing methods. You will have knowledge of current sustainability trends and issues in relation to packaging plus proven numerical abilities in creating and interpreting technical data. Technical experience in flexible package and membership of The Packaging Society or similar industry body are both highly desirable.
