The job

The purpose of the role is to provide a primary statistical service to the microbiology department and other departments at within the business as required.

The work would include the design and analysis of scientific experiments, appropriate calculations and multivariate statistics, provide advice to external clients on sampling plans, control charts and sampling for food safety, design and analysis of compliance surveys and help scientific staff in the use of specialist graphics e.g. advanced graphs in R. Learning and use and advice in the statistics involved in method validation and verification, particularly in the statistics used in ISO 16140.

Your experience

To be considered for the Statistician (Microbiology) role, you be educated to a degree or equivalent level in a mathematics or statistics subject, with post graduate experience of the use of statistical tools in an industrial setting and in experimental science (design & analysis of experiments). Any previous experience in using statistical in food science and particularly microbiology will be looked on very favourably.
