This company, based in the Staffordshire area, are a leading food manufacturer with a national presence and they are in the midst of executing an exciting growth strategy. As the Shift Manager you will be instrumental in ensuring they continue to meet customer expectations.
Description
This is an exciting opportunity & a chance to add value to the site. As the Shift Manager you will be key to ensuring consistency within the production department function & support in driving it forward. You will be creating a culture through empowering a continuous improvement mind-set & utilising change management to increase profit and quality of service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing a large team producing a quality product safely & efficiently
- Motivating, training, coaching & disciplining staff to deliver maximum productivity
- Perform & engage in management audits & inspections contributing to the site H&S initiatives
- Drive a professional empowered environment where Continuous Improvement is essential
- Responsible for organising all production on site to ensure targets are achieved (efficiency & yield)
- Oversee that goods are produced in a timely & efficient manner to meet customer requirements
- Adhere to stringent H&S, Food Safety & Quality standards & procedures, ensuring allergen controls & efficiency targets are met
- Maximising resources including materials, methodology, labour & machinery
Hours: Shifts: Monday to Friday rotating between 06:00-14:00, 14:00-22:00, 22:00-06:00
Profile
The successful candidate will have had prior experience as a Production Shift Manager managing a sizeable team within the food manufacturing/FMCG environment and the following:
- Good knowledge & understanding of Production systems
- Proven track record in delivering efficiency & Continuous Improvement
- Excellent communication skills, strong leadership & ability to drive a teams performance
- Working knowledge & awareness of H&S legislation OHSAS 18001
- IOSH Managing Safety
- Ideally Food Hygiene Level 3
- Ideally HACCP Level 2 or higher
