I am working with a brilliant food company based in North Yorkshire who is looking to add an NPD Manager to their leadership team. Over the last 5 years, my client has grown successful and are now in a position to appoint an NPD Manager.
The successful candidate will take a lead on the development of our new and existing products. Introducing and refining new product concepts through the development process, ensuring that technical and quality standards are achieved. The focus will be on to develop new and modify existing products for our customers. Build a strong relationship with the customers and understand working to tight deadlines.
·Develop new concepts, recipes and flavours not only in response to customer briefs, but work with Production, Technical, Quality Control and Marketing & Sales.
·Manage focused development of new products to deliver the required margin for our customers and the business.
·Contribute to the business NPD strategy, delivering and implementing improvements to the NPD process as well as looking at EPD.
·Monitor and benchmark product quality of new and existing products
·To effectively manage end to end product and packaging development
·Continue to develop relationships between factory operations, technical, manufacturing teams and supply chain
·Write detailed product briefs for new product launches
·Prepare and present new product concepts with key values to our key customers.
·Provide samples requested by customers on time, with supporting paperwork including preliminary specification details.
·Educated to degree level in a food related subject would be hugely advantageous.
·A proven track record of developing recipes from concept through to launch in food manufacturing supporting uk retailers or food service.
·Experience of working in a fast paced environment with an awareness of project management techniques, in particular critical path and gated processes.
·Be an excellent communicator and relationships are key, both internally and externally.
·LOVE food and be passionate about trends and flavours.
·Be computer literate
·Excellent verbal and written communication skills
·Flexible approach to working hours
·Strong ownership to deliver results Positive, Can-do attitude
What’s on offer?
·A starting salary of up to £35,000 per year.
