We are looking to appoint a Purchasing Controller to lead a material sourcing category, to ensure that performance is built and directed to deliver clearly defined business plans  and targets, and ensure close and effective liaison with the relevant UK Business Teams

Main responsibilities

• Formulate and implement UK wide sourcing strategies that ensure current business performance targets are achieved and that UK wide Business Team strategies are supported


• Lead a material sourcing category to ensure that total cost (PPV) of the portfolio is managed efficiently and effectively


• Identify and implement actions to promote the effective operation of the UK wide Purchasing team to ensure that practices are aligned and focused on common goals


• Establish and monitor information sources/data and forecast prices, to ensure accurate business forecasting, and support of UK wide Business Teams


• Develop and embed a commercial performance culture, to ensure clear focus on key objectives with team (where relevant) developed to maximise their potential


• Monitor and review supplier sourcing requirements to ensure that a clear sourcing and succession plan is enacted

Ideal candidate

• Degree calibre


• Experience of Dairy purchasing advantageous


• Detailed knowledge of how Purchasing systems and processes work


• Multi-site/Divisional negotiation experience


• Experience of leading a multi-site team


• Experience of Senior leadership decision making
