Technical Manager

Our client, a large independent food manufacturer based in North Wales, is looking for an experienced Technical Manager to join their team. A role for an active Manager with total involvement in the factory, you will be responsible for maintaining, developing and implementing the quality ethos ensuring compliance with customer, BRC, RSPO and food safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• To develop and maintain the Quality and HACCP (due diligence) systems
• Manage and lead the process of accreditation audit against BRC Food Safety Global Standard, RSPO and customer audits
• Daily control of quality and HACCP procedures ensuring all checks and procedures are fully understood
• Promote quality across the site and drive performance improvement in the production areas with the Production Manager and Managing Director
• To assist in customer complaints management (log, investigation, proposal of corrective action) of such issues until they are fully resolved and the root cause determined
• To manage and carry out internal audits including quality, hygiene, GMP and systems audits and issue KPI reports
• To assist in factory trials and launches of new products
• To manage micro testing and analyse micro results to drive improvements in hygiene procedures and process controls
• Maintain good customer relations

Essential / Desirable skills include:

• Experience of food manufacturing processes including product legality and HACCP
• Experienced internal auditor
• Major retailer liaison and specifications systems
• Accuracy, attention to detail and numerate approach to provide data on time in the right format
• Excellent communication, organisation and decision making skills, with the ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines
• Hands on Manager with a motivational and inspirational approach
