As the Interim Health & Safety Manager you will be championing and promoting a culture of Health and Safety across the site, working in line with current legislation as well as the company policies & procedures.

As the Interim Health & Safety Manager, you will be supporting the operation on their health & safety journey. You will be working with key stake holders in order to create a sustainable improvement culture.

Description

As the Interim Health & Safety Manager you will be influencing and driving change across the site, instilling best practises & standards whilst raising awareness. You will be working with the senior operational team in order to embed the right process & ensure sustainable change.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage relationships with the Leadership and Management teams, influencing where required in order to support compliance and consistency
  • Assess current ways of working and identify any opportunities for improvement and deliver in line with a budget
  • Creating and monitoring risk assessments, with training out where necessary at all levels
  • Deliver IOSH Working and Managing Safely across the site
  • Lead the review and any implementation of opportunities to health and safety policies and procedures
  • Review all accident investigations as a final sign off and where necessary carry out accident investigation training to the Management Team.
  • Actively prevent accidents & work-related injuries/illnesses.
  • Review SOPs, ensuring the appropriate level of detail and reference to risk assessments to include site policies and procedures
  • Create and launch internal audits to help measure compliance and identify areas of opportunity or risk, taking appropriate action to resolve
  • Set up and facilitate site weekly accident review meetings, recording of all outputs and appropriate actions/plans put in place
  • Reporting to Head of Operations with weekly updates required and monthly reviews of site compliance
  • Working with HR Manager to ensure site approach and ways of working are aligned with business policies
  • Management and Leadership team, delivering site safety awareness courses out to the team across campus and at all levels


  • Profile

    The successful applicant will be Health & Safety professional available at short notice with experience in a fast-paced, complex operation & the following:
  • NEBOSH certificate as a minimum qualification
  • Experienced in the delivery of IOSH Working Safely and IOSH Managing safely
  • Handling of Health and Safety investigations
  • Experience in formulating, implementing and revising H&S policies and procedures
  • Ability to communicate and influence at all levels across Campus, to include experience in training and communicating with larger groups
  • Good administration and report building skills in order to report on compliance and demonstrate trends plus any appropriate actions
  • The ability to work well in a team as well as independently and be able to effectively prioritise your workload
