The job
This is a brand-new position which has been created due to the company’s ongoing success and growth. It is a fantastic opportunity for someone to join a talented team in a friendly environment where you can develop your skills and grow with the business.
Reporting to the Site Technical Manager, as Technical Assistant, the purpose of your role is to support the technical department in maintaining product quality, safety and legality throughout the business by ensuring procedures within the company are followed.
You will carry out internal auditing and routine traceability, assist with export documentation, assist the QA team with administration such as certificates of analysis, issue the weekly out of specification report, update the laboratory schedule plus carry out laboratory report filing, check invoices.
The role will cover QA’s absence or holiday and finally assist with any other task set by the Technical Manager as appropriate.
Your experience
To be considered for the Technical Assistant job, you will preferably be educated to a degree/HND level in a food science discipline and possess previous technical/QA experience either from a university placement or full-time role. You will be able to demonstrate a good working knowledge of technical administration, product traceability, have good communication skills and be IT literate. Additional qualifications including Internal Auditor, HACCP, Food Safety and Food Hygiene are all desirable.

The Technical Assistant job is based in the South West region and is paying £22,000.
The normal hours of work will be Monday to Friday 8:30-17:00, however shift work (6am-2pm/10am-6pm) will be required to cover QA’s absence/holiday.
