Technical Assistant

We are working with an exciting food manufacturer based in North West London.

They are on the lookout for a Technical Assistant.

Role:

• Working in the Technical team and reporting to the Technical Manager, you will ensure that the company’s Food Safety plan based on a HACCP system which is systematic, comprehensive, thorough and fully implemented.
• Ensuring that an effective mechanism of Food Safety is implemented at all stages of production incompliance with legal requirements.
• Ensuring that factory hygiene, methods of processing, production and storage are in compliance with all legal requirements and directives.

Responsibilities:

• Working with the Technical team and reporting to the Technical Manager, you will ensure that the company’s Food Safety plan is based on a HACCP system which is systematic, comprehensive, thorough and fully implemented.
• Ensuring that an effective mechanism of Food Safety is implemented at all stages of production incompliance with legal requirements.
• Ensuring that factory hygiene, methods of processing, production and storage are in compliance with all legal requirements and directives.
• Demonstrate competency in HACCP through the quality plan, which must be maintained at all times.
• Carrying out detailed Hazard Analysis of all processes and products identifying all relevant Critical Control Points
• Ensuring that all corrective actions are documented and raised with the relevant personnel.
• Help the team to install monitoring mechanism to ensure compliance.
• Ensure hard copies of all HACCP’s and flow paths are maintained by the quality department and stored in a dedicated file.
• Arranging audits and quality system review meetings in order to meet these requirements.
• Notify Technical Manager of any non-conformance of fresh/frozen product or any warehouse issues that may affect product safety, quality and legality.
• Apply quality control measures set out for fresh/ frozen product and its movement within the factory and on to the vehicles for dispatch in terms of quality and legality. 
• Ensure all relevant documentation is completed in respect of food hygiene and safety and that any contamination of goods is reported to Senior Management without delay

Candidate:

• Fresh Produce experience (desirable)
• Educated to degree level (Food Technology or Food Science degree is desirable)
• HACCP and Food Hygiene
• 2/3 Years’ experience in a similar foods manufacturing environment
• 100% commitment to quality, safety, compliance and customer/supplier satisfaction.
• Solid knowledge of current food legislation.
• Food hygiene awareness
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

What’s on Offer?

• A salary of around £25,000-£30,000 per annum
• Monday-Friday; 9:00-5:00
• 28 days holidays (including banks)
