The Company

Our client is a first class manufacturer and supplier of the finest quality food products and one of the UK’s leading businesses in its sector. Placing great emphasis on partnerships in business, our client’s customers include virtually all of the UK's leading retail and wholesale distribution foodservice companies as well as many of Europe's major food manufacturers. New Product Development and Innovation is at the centre of a clear vision for continued growth and future success.

The Role

To support these ambitious future growth plans the company is seeking an NPD Manager to generate and drive an ongoing programme of NPD and Innovation.

Reporting to the Head of Innovation, the role is high profile, with responsibility for driving new products through the creative development process from concept to launch, to deliver sales growth and profitability targets, whilst meeting customers’ growth plans.

You will identify and evaluate food trends that support the business vision and customer strategy within our client’s 5-year rolling innovation plan. You will play a key role in the innovation pipeline and growth strategy, managing the delivery of allocated projects.

The role is based at the company’s offices in Northamptonshire with regular visits to customers and suppliers.

About You

For this position we are looking for someone with an NPD or Product Development background in food or drink (ideally in own-label) with a demonstrable, successful track record managing key NPD projects and bringing products to market in a structured manner. You will also need to be commercially sound and be able to bring all your influencing and persuasion skills to building strong relationships both internally and externally.  A genuine and real passion for food would be a distinct advantage.

If you think you’ve got what it takes and are ultimately keen to develop a career with a leading, growing FMCG company then please apply online giving details of your current salary package in a covering note. Alternatively, email your CV to Maria Murphy at mariam@smithcarey.co.uk quoting reference number MM/2086.

Closing Date for applications:  8th September 2018
