The Company

Quorn Foods, with our entrepreneurial spirit is a great place to work. Our people are passionate, take initiative and accountability and, most of all, work together as one team, focused on one shared goal with common values.

We are an ambitious, growing, independent FMCG company, focused on creating the world’s leading meat-alternative business, through our market leading Quorn and Cauldron brands. We are a global business that designs, manufactures and sells our healthy protein products in the UK and internationally with annual sales turnover in excess of £200 million across 17 territories.

Following acquisition in 2015 by Monde Nissin Corporation, we have ambitious plans to become a $1bn dollar company, with growth of more than 15% annually we hope to meet this target by 2027. We are investing £150 million in additional capacity over the next 5 years, so this is a hugely exciting time to be joining the organisation.

The Role

As a global market leader in a high growth category, manufacturing excellence is key to ongoing success at Quorn. Engineering and asset capability is at the heart of our global expansion strategy, as a result there is an ongoing drive to maximise operational performance and efficiencies of our production sites.

As part of this process we’ve created the new position of Plant Engineer, a key role that will involve thinking strategically about the performance and design of a manufacturing asset.

The Plant Engineer will focus on capability and reliability, building deep and specialised knowledge of asset performance and taking responsibility for further developments and improvement.

Some key elements of the position include; ensuring there is maximised (and consistent) equipment performance through understanding the optimum settings for highest line balanced performance, ensuring the right PPM schedule is in place to maintain uptime, setting expectations and developing capability of the shift Engineering Manufacturing Technicians, and promoting operator understanding and asset care practices.

The Person

We’re seeking someone who has a management background in Engineering, within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Current experience in Food & Drink or FMCG would be preferred.

Educated to degree level in an Engineering discipline and with a minimum of 5 years industry experience, you will be seeking an opportunity to take on strategic responsibility for the ongoing improvement and evolution of a manufacturing asset.

To thrive in our rapidly evolving, high growth business you will be ambitious, motivated and naturally curious – always seeking to identify where manufacturing improvements can be made and new processes can be implemented.

Success in the role will require both a high level of technical ability and excellent organisational skills, delivering results through a range of resources. You will have a proven track record of achievement, with numerous examples of where your insight and action has delivered significant positive changes in plant performance.

The position is based at our Billingham site, so applicants must be within commuting distance or able to relocate.

If you have the skills, experience and enthusiasm to take on this strategic engineering challenge then we’d love to hear from you.
