Department / Operations Manager | Food Manufacturing
This well-known global food manufacturer is looking for a Department / Operations Manager to oversee the entire production area at their site in Cambridgeshire. They are looking for someone to optimise all aspects of the production of their products, including management of materials and labour. They are keen to get someone on board who can promote an environment that challenges the existing processes and strives for excellence through continuous improvement and flexibility.
As a long-running and efficient business, they are looking to hire an equally competent and enthusiastic individual to fill this job.
Reporting into the Site Manufacturing Manager, in this job you will be managing and motivating the team, as well as monitoring team and company targets. You will be responsible for ensuring the operation complies with all legislative and ethical standards and you will contribute to the delivery of the manufacturing strategy for the use of continuous improvement tools and techniques.
What you'll need to succeed:
In order to be considered for this job you will have a minimum of 3 years' manufacturing management experience, preferably within a food manufacturing environment. You must also hold a CIEH Level 2 Food Safety and Health & Safety qualification or equivalent.
Given the fast-paced nature of this role, you must be able to think on your feet and be a good problem-solver. Strong leadership skills are also necessary to be successful in this role, as well as the ability to motivate your team to achieve the best possible results. Experience with continuous improvement and lean manufacturing techniques are also highly desirable.
