Our client is one of the market leaders in the food service sector and as a result of continuing growth they are now looking to appoint a Distribution Manager to run their fleet of delivery vehicles who deliver to customers across the whole of the South East of the UK.

This is a highly complex and sophisticated operation involving moving perishable goods daily by a fleet of lorries both company owned and by outside hauliers. The business is profitable and poised for additional growth.

They are therefore looking to appoint a Distribution Manager to co-ordinate all of this distribution and manage the distribution depot. CPC qualified, they want someone who will maximise loads for greater efficiencies, someone who will manage the team of drivers ensuring the collections and deliveries are managed effectively and someone who can 'Think laterally' to challenge what is in place and drive out unnecessary costs.

Reporting in to the Managing Director, you will be tasked with managing the operations as separate business with full P+L responsibility. The role will be managing the operation, the delivery of all consignments on a daily basis to customers and suppliers nationwide, ensuring that all commitments and liabilities are met as efficiently as possible and to the lowest cost.

The role will be fast paced and demanding, yet as this a new role there will be opportunities to achieve distribution synergies and really drive some cost out of the business. We are therefore looking for an experienced logistics professional who is a self starter, customer focussed and yet financially aware.

As the business grows, your team will grow to meet the demands of the customers, therefore we looking for someone with maturity and the confidence to lead from the front.

The Salary is negotiable upon experience but is likely to be £60-65k +bonus and benefits
