Engineering Operative (Handyman)

Location: Redmoor, Milton Keynes

Salary: £30,000 per annum

We are looking for an Engineering Operative (Handyman) to be based in our manufacturing site in Redmoor, Milton Keynes. 

What you’ll do

• To be aware of Food Safety standards
• To be able to perform basic plumbing requirements i.e. replace taps, u bends, etc
• To be able to perform basic ironmongery i.e. replace hinges, etc
• To be able to perform basic electrics i.e. replacing light switches, tubes, etc
• To be able to perform basic utility work i.e. repair and clean guttering, drain clearing, etc
• Assist the purchasing of engineering of stock
• Assist the stock management of engineering stores
• Administrative duties within the engineering function

This role is a full-time, working 35 hours per week.  The shift pattern is Monday to Friday, and the working times would be flexible depending on the needs of the business.

What you’ll do

• Experience of working within the FMCG environment is preferred but not essential
• Health & Safety qualification or desire to achieve
•  Year City & Guilds in Electrical 2391 or equivalent preferable
• Good command of Microsoft Word and Excel
• Able to work on own initiative when required
• Able to work well under pressure
• Takes responsibility and ownership
• Able to build strong working relationships with team and other stakeholders
