We are seeking a talented individual to work for an innovative, high quality manufacturer which supplies to various retailers throughout the UK.

The job

As Interim Specifications Technologist, your job purpose is to manage product specifications including retailer, manufacturing and in-house formats plus complete all supporting technical documentation.

You will complete specifications on web based retail specification systems, prepare and maintain internal specifications, maintain and update supplier assurance systems as required, check artwork to final copy ensure packaging information is correct and legal, request ingredient and packaging specifications, produce external reports as requested by customers including creation of supply chain maps, chain of custody documentation, supplier questionnaires plus assist other departments and members of the technical team with product technical data as required.

Your experience

Ideally educated to a degree level in a food science/technology discipline, you will possess a strong track record of food industry specification writing for branded and own brand products for major retailers, food service or major manufacturers using a variety of platforms. You will have high attention to detail, possess excellent communication skills and can demonstrate an understanding of food legislation.

This is an interim contract with a duration of 3 months.
