An opportunity to join a growing west London food manufacturer in a position aimed at a candidate who can bridge the gap from Production QC testing to Quality Assurance/Food Safety requirements, reporting directly into Technical Manager.

INTERNAL AUDITS

  • To carry out GMP, Hygiene, CCP’s, Foreign Body, and Glass Audits as per schedule.
  • To record audit results in the KPI’s spread sheet on a weekly basis.
  • To raise Non conformance reports/Maintenance request forms as a result of the internal audits. These will be communicated immediately with suggested corrective actions. The corrective actions will be agreed by the TM with the relevant departmental manager with a completion target limit for the implementation.

OBJECTIVES

  1. To ensure that practices, procedures and protocols are verified periodically.
  2. To react as enforcers across the site when standards are not met via non-conformance reports. This will ensure corrective actions are taking place and are reduced over time.

TRACEABILITY

  • To carry out Monthly traceability audits for all the customers as per schedule.

OBJECTIVES

  1. In house traceability will ensure that issues with the completion of the documentation can be pin pointed swiftly and re-training in how to complete processes control can be standardised effectively across the site.

PROCESS CONTROLS

  • To countersign with red pen all crucial documentation across the factory. E.g. Start-up sheets, FB control, Volume control, traceability records, CCP’s records, labelling and coding checks for Production and Goods In records.
  • To File on a daily basis paperwork for production and goods in as well as visitors forms.
  • To enter Goods In records on a spread sheet (daily basis)

OBJECTIVES

  1. The paperwork countersigning represent a cross check of the production areas understanding of importance of record keeping.
  2. Auditors will be checking for correct completion as well for training needs to assist the production department in improvements in addition of verifying that acting supervisors and staff are completing their work processes correctly.
  3. The overall intention of these checks is to ensure processes are accurate in the first place so when filling no gaps are found or missing records.

TEMPERATURE CHECKS

  • To carry out daily temperature checks for the probiotic freezer, canteen areas and NPD kitchen
  • To save the excel report received via email on a daily basis for the Tektronics system in the absence of the TM.
  • To download VRD continuous temperature monitoring for Cooking and Cooling CCP’s.

OBJECTIVES

  1. To ensure that the relevant DATA is available for monitoring and auditing. 

ALLERGEN CONTROL

  • To observe practices and enforce segregation of operation and raise awareness of staff for PPE usage and other relevant control that are in place.

OBJECTIVES

  1. To continuously asses ingredient, WIP, Staff, and processing Impact in allergen control so that corrective actions can be placed

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

  • To scan or save electronically and COA/COC received with the agreed ingredients.
  • To assess that no old paperwork is used by the factory staff.
  • To monitor the factory hygiene standards are attained consistently by carrying out in-house ATP swabs.

OBJECTIVES

  1. To ensure compliance with BRC requirements.

CALIBRATIONS

  • Check and calibrate thermometers and weighing scales (weekly)
  • To liaise with the TM in order to arrange external calibration for critical equipment.

MICRO TESTING & SAMPLE ROUTINE

  • To liaise with EUROFINS laboratory in order arrange sample collection as per micro schedules.
  • To request shelf life testing for finished products as per schedule.

We are looking for a candidate that has;  Food Industry experience (in a fast paced environment), GMP, QC/QA,  L2-3 Food Safety, L2-3 HACCP, Internal Auditing, Allergens, Labelling Requirements, Supplier Specifications, good communication skills, computer skills, etc.

Experience of BRC & Retailer Standards would be beneficial

The ability to deputise for TM, as & when required.

Indicative Salary Range: £22000 - 25000
