The role necessitates effective people management skills, with a focus on motivating and developing individual team members to improve the overall skill set of the unit. The role must adopt a pro-active approach to food safety, liaising closely with the Cookline, Technical and Quality functions.

FMCG Manufacturer based near Huddersfield.

The client works with a large portfolio of market leading brands with more being added to the collection regularly.

Description

Overall management of the relevant department





Labour Planning and Variance Management





Material usage and waste





Stock control and Accuracy





GMP/Audit readiness





H&S & Training





Metrics CI and PIP reporting





Succession Planning





Fulfilling requirements through the production process to the agreed customer and quality standards





Identifying and fulfilling training requirements of the department and any other associated departments





Adhere to all site induction/training programmes, maintaining a skills matrix





Participation inHACCP and ensure implementation of control measures





Controlling, re-using and costing non-conforming production and eliminating causes of non-conformance





Maintain weekly production plans and track capacity and utilisation





Liaise with Supply Chain and stores to ensure raw material requirements are maintained





Liaise withNPD andQA manager to ensure the incorporation of all new products into the production process





Attend relevant meetings and be prepared to meet expectation





Conduct relevant briefings to the team and recognise under performance or concerns challenging appropriately





Report to Operations Manager on all production/personnel issues and implement corrective action.









Profile

Experience in manufacturing in a high volumeFMCG environment





Previous manufacturing management experience preferably gained within the food industry





Must have a proven history in motivational techniques to get the best from the team





IT literate





A working knowledge of Key Performance Indicators





Sound team / line development skills





Ability to use initiative





Confidence to make on the spot decisions
