The Role:

The main purpose of the role is to devise safety and security policies and procedures for the distribution centre. The role encompasses the following responsibilities:

• Creating and updating job safety programmes for employees
• Management of a team of 2 direct reports
• Design and implement all policies and safety procedures as required by legislation
• Undertake Health, Safety and Security project work and manage timescales
• Conduct health and safety inspections and prepare reports of all the company’s operations
• Ensure all assessments as required by legislation are conducted and reviewed
• Carry out investigations into all accidents and near-miss incidents and to record the findings on relevant forms
• Highlight areas where training/certification is required to meet the standards imposed by Legislation, Approved Codes of Practice or HSE guidance

The Candidate:

• You will have experience within a Health and Safety Manager role within a distribution centre
• Working knowledge and experience in bringing a facility into full compliance with legislation
• Experience in large scale project management
• Extensive experience in leading health safety and security programmes
• Excellent communication skills
