Description

The key responsibilities of the Scientific Affairs Manager (EMEA):

• Ensure the safety and scientific integrity of products and product related material for the EMEA markets.
• Ensure all product claims are scientifically substantiated and meet regulatory requirements in the EU and other EMEA markets.
• Liaise with various internal and external stakeholders to build the credibility of the brand
• Direct management of the Scientific affairs for the EMEA region
• Work closely with R&D, NPD, Product Innovation, QA, QC, Supply Chain, Sourcing, Project management, Global RA, Government affairs and Consumer affairs
• Work to maintain knowledge of relevant food legislation
• Evaluate scientific literature and communication of information to both specialist and consumer functions

Profile

The ideal individual will:

• Have an MSc or PhD in a science based degree (preferably nutrition, biochemistry, food science, chemistry)
• Experience working in a similar industry or ambient product range
• Comprehensive understanding of relevant EU legislation and national laws in relation to product claims substantiation for food
• Ideally, experience of successful applications for Health claims
• Experience with the submission of scientific dossiers
• Ability to identify, network and influence external stakeholders including academics, research institutions, suppliers and government officials.
