Outstanding opportunity to work for one fo the top manufacturers of supplements and neutraceuticals in the UK. This role will support the NPD function in claims validation, technical files, regulatory affairs, lobbying and scientific substantiation within the EMEA region.

Description
The key responsibilities of the Scientific Affairs Manager (EMEA):
- Ensure the safety and scientific integrity of products and product related material for the EMEA markets.
- Ensure all product claims are scientifically substantiated and meet regulatory requirements in the EU and other EMEA markets.
- Liaise with various internal and external stakeholders to build the credibility of the brand
- Direct management of the Scientific affairs for the EMEA region
- Work closely with R&D, NPD, Product Innovation, QA, QC, Supply Chain, Sourcing, Project management, Global RA, Government affairs and Consumer affairs
- Work to maintain knowledge of relevant food legislation
- Evaluate scientific literature and communication of information to both specialist and consumer functions
Profile
The ideal individual will:
- Have an MSc or PhD in a science based degree (preferably nutrition, biochemistry, food science, chemistry)
- Experience working in a similar industry or ambient product range
- Comprehensive understanding of relevant EU legislation and national laws in relation to product claims substantiation for food
- Ideally, experience of successful applications for Health claims
- Experience with the submission of scientific dossiers
- Ability to identify, network and influence external stakeholders including academics, research institutions, suppliers and government officials.
