The company

An opportunity has arisen for a qualified Technical & QA Manager to join an established food manufacturing company which specialises in producing great tasting, high quality products.

The job

As Technical & QA Manager, you will drive high quality standards and improve existing procedures throughout the production processes plus take full ownership for the technical agenda.

You will be responsible for:

• Implement, review and update the FSQM and HACCP system and ensure ongoing compliance
• Manage the technical auditing function to ensure the company meet legislative, customer and company requirements
• Oversee the reporting and actions of non-compliances
• Ensure all products supplied are fit for purpose, meet customer requirements and all relevant legislation
• Drive forward the company’s commitment to continuous improvement, quality assurance culture and customer service throughout the factory
• Ensure samples for the chemical microbiological testing are taken and sent
• Monitor the overall food safety and food hygiene throughout the factory
• Responsible for the planning of relevant training of staff

Your experience

The role requires an experienced leader with experience of challenging the norm and who is willing to make changes to drive the business forward. This role would suit an existing Quality/Technical professional who is looking for a new challenge.

You will have good QMS knowledge including BRC, be a strong communicator, confident in working with customer technical teams and ideally be educated to a degree level in a food or science related subject. Advanced HACCP, Food Hygiene and Lead Auditor qualifications are all highly preferred.

The Technical & QA Manager job is based in the East Midlands and is paying £35,000. The working hours are Monday to Friday; some flexibility will be required to meet the needs of the business.
