So, what will I be doing?

As Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) Advisor, you will be joining the Health & Safety and Manufacturing departments in a distinctive, ambitious and trusted manufacturing company that is committed to making great British dairy the right way. Forever. Working closely with the Health and Safety Manager you will be responsible for SHE management working in collaboration with the Production Sites. Proactively monitoring risks and outcomes, ensuring the effective development, implementation and management of policies and procedures to continuously improve SHE standards.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Championing the drive to continually improve Safety, Health and Environmental Management across Yeo Valley Farms Production with all employees
• Working in partnership with the Site Teams, H&S Manager and Central Environmental Engineer to continually improve working practices, work instructions and job breakdown sheets supporting consistency of approach across the organisation
• Communicating with Site Management Teams at all levels to ensure compliance with the Safety, Health and Environmental Management Procedures and Company strategy
• Engaging the Site Health and Safety ‘Champions’ for procedural reviews, SHE initiatives and manage monthly consultation meetings and subsequent actions
• Liaising with the Regulatory bodies as required in relation to Site and the Central Engineering Environmental Advisor on Environmental Permit performance
• Ensuring all stakeholders including H&S Manager and Senior Site Management teams are informed of SHE performance through periodic status reporting and updates.
• Implementing, managing and supporting production of the Site & Central Systems for Safety and Environmental management
• Effectively monitoring and managing health, safety and environmental performance, behaviour and working practices and take appropriate corrective action where necessary

Essential

• NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety
• Environmental Level 3 qualification
• Excellent communication skills
• Minimum of Tech IOSH working towards Grad IOSH
• Experience within Safety, Health and Environmental management preferably within manufacturing
• Drivers Licence

Desirable

• Food industry experience
• Accredited Internal Auditor qualification/experience
• Training qualification
• Environmental Permitting experience
• GRAD IOSH
• Experience of working to OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001 and ISO 14001
