This role Is working for a multi-sited manufacturer of high quality and delicious products supplied predominantly to the foodservice sector. Through careful market research and monitoring of trends, the company continually develop exciting new products for their customers.

The job

The Buyer will form an integral part of the purchasing team. With a solid background in Purchasing, the candidate will take a proactive approach in leading the Company forward in securing quality suppliers of ingredients and packaging covering price, delivery and quality targets.

You will liaise between suppliers, relevant internal departments and customers, build and maintain relationships with potential and existing suppliers, negotiate and agree new contracts including discount structures and checking quality of service, communicate any supply issues to the planning team, forecast price trends and impact on future activities, develop the business purchasing strategy and give presentations about market analysis and possible growth.

Your experience

You should possess a solid purchasing track record within a food manufacturing environment, most ideally chilled, short shelf life foods. You will ideally be educated to a degree level in a buying related discipline and CIPS level 3 is essential. You will be IT literate including Microsoft Office and MRP software together with a proven track record of controlling and reducing external spend whilst developing a robust supplier base. A driving licence is also required.

The Buyer job is based in South West region and is paying £26,000. The working hours are Monday to Friday, 8am – 5pm.
