Interim Supply Chain Planner

The company

You will be working for a manufacturer of premium quality products which supplies throughout the UK as well as overseas. It is undergoing rapid expansion which is set to increase even more over the next few years.

The job

Your core responsibility will be to ensure all materials are available on time and in full, servicing all channels and territories, whilst maintaining inventory value to a minimum. You will manage stock to agreed levels and optimise stock holding by engaging with key stakeholders across the business and supply base.


Key responsibilities will include:

  • Ensure all purchase orders are placed in line with supplier lead-times
  • Ensure delivery is received on time and in full
  • Manage supplier relationships to ensure standards are met
  • Manage material shortages and communicate to all relevant stakeholders
  • Ensure alignment on future risks and upcoming events
  • Ensure Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) is maintained
  • Manage redundant stock ensuring minimal stock and any upcoming risks are escalated
  • Manage international stock holding in line with forecasts whilst adhering to the critical path

Your experience

You will possess strong numeracy, communication and IT skills (including Advanced Excel) plus possess a solid track record in material/supply chain planning, most preferably food manufacturing. You will have supplier management experience and an understanding of retailer and internal customer management. A commercial and strategic mindset is essential, and together with drive and determination, you’ll have the ability to think bigger, grow your role and be excited by implementing change.

The Interim Supply Chain Planner job is based in Cambridgeshire and is paying a competitive day rate according to individual skills and previous experience.

This is an interim contract to start immediately with a duration of 6 months.
