Food Technologist, Lancashire

As awareness of allergens and health trends increase, so does the importance of accurate food labelling.

This is a newly created and varied Food Technologist position to expand and strengthen the team, bridging the gap between the NPD and Technical functions.

You will work on products from concept stage, calculate nutritional data and create pack copy. You'll liaise with Marketing colleagues to provide advice on product health claims and develop front of pack design. Working with external designers, printers and translators as appropriate you'll ensure all packaging and labelling meets legal / regulatory requirements.

To succeed you'll need to bring knowledge of food law and labelling requirements along with real attention to detail.

A Food & Nutrition degree, or at least, real interest in nutrition would be advantageous. Knowledge of NPD processes, allergens, HARA, HACCP and BRC are all desirable.

Interest in packaging, global food trends and sustainability would all be a bonus too.
