The company

A position has arisen for a Quality Controller working for a family owned business which grows high quality, award-winning, fresh produce which is supplied to the major UK multiples and food manufacturers.

The job

As Quality Controller, you will continuously monitor product quality at all stages of the intake, packing, grading, storing, shelf life and despatch process.

You will ensure product traceability is maintained, report on shelf life, inspection and positive release product assessments, ensure all quality procedures are adhered to, ensure products are packed in accordance to food safety, quality and legality requirements, ensure products conform to customer specifications and requirements plus be aware of the requirements of the Food Safety & Quality Management System and Health and Safety policies .

Your experience

We are seeking a confident individual who has some quality assurance or quality control experience from within a fresh produce business – a background of working with top fruit is essential. You will possess excellent attention to detail, be highly organised, be quality focused plus have some knowledge of food safety requirements. Own transport will be required due to company location.

The Quality Controller job is based in the South East region and is paying c. £18,000 - £22,000 based on an hourly rate of £9 - £10.50 with plenty of opportunity for overtime plus a shift premium for voluntary night shifts.
