As the Automation Reliability Engineer you will be part of the sites Engineering Leadership team, instrumental in developing strategy & co-ordination of execution of the sites process control/automation functions.

As a result of their continued growth, you have the opportunity to step into a brand new role as the Automation Reliability Engineer, based from their site in the West Midlands area.



Description

This business is in need of an Automation Reliability Engineer who has experience in developing strategies & co-ordinating the execution of control/automation functions. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the sites Engineering Leadership team, & to be able to interact cross-functionally in order to provide innovative solutions. You will also be required to work alone as well as part of a team & some key responsibilities include:
  • Develop, execute and maintain a plant network so plant assets can be centrally monitored
  • In the event original equipment manufactures (OEM's) need access to assets for maintenance/ upgrades, arrange access compliant to company standards
  • Monitor the performance of control and automation systems
  • In the event of faults, lead root cause analysis/ troubleshooting to correct issues
  • Present diagnostics findings to the rest of the Engineering department
  • Manage the plant sub-network, ensuring all assets are fully embedded and integrity and security of the sub-network
  • Prevent obsolescence of controls/ automation equipment by planning for life-cycle replacement activities
  • As the position holder will lead a sub department, flexibility will be required for potential late call outs




  • Working Hours: Monday - Friday (40 hours)



    Profile

    An Automation Reliability Engineer, with experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The successful applicant will have:
  • An Engineering qualification to Degree, HND or City & Guilds level, preferably in AEI (Automation, Electrical Instrumentation or Process Control)
  • Proven experience in the function, design and execution of technical solutions for automation in industrial settings
  • Knowledge of programming languages for PLC's and DCS systems
  • Troubleshooting and loop tuning experience
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and prints
  • Ability to install, replace, configure and troubleshoot automation components such as frequency drives, sensors, eyes
  • Ideally, have an understanding on configure plant systems such as Pi or Wonderware
