As the Night Shift Engineer you will be working on both mechanical & electrical equipment, & as part of an established team, ensuring plant, machinery & equipment are capable of meeting daily company needs.

You have the chance to join a leading food manufacturing business that have a diverse product range. As a result of this, they are in need of a Night Shift Engineer to be based from their site in the Aberystwyth area.



Description

This business are in need of a Night Shift Engineer who will be working as part of a team, leading the implementation of efficient planned preventative maintenance, machine modifications & machine breakdowns. This is an exciting opportunity to be able to interact cross-functionally in order to improve their engineering efficiency. You will also be required to work as part of a team & some key responsibilities include:
  • Responsible for ensuring all tasks carried out are in accordance with the Food Safety Management System
  • Responsible for monitoring equipment to ensure that there is no potential risk to food product safety and for reporting any defects should they occur
  • At the direction of the Maintenance Manager undertakes repairs to plant, machinery and equipment specified CMMS or whilst in the production area
  • Undertakes routine maintenance of boilers, heat pasteuriser and processors as required
  • Undertakes electrical repairs, along with monitoring these services with in production areas
  • Undertakes basic plumbing repairs including tap washers, leaks etc., monitors these services within production areas
  • In conjunction with other colleagues ensures that there are adequate supplies of spares in stock
  • Undertakes basic fabrication and pipe work duties as required
  • Undertakes a range of routine tasks associated with fixtures and fittings around the Dairy e.g. putting up noticeboards, display cases etc
  • Maintains records (manual and computerised) as necessary
  • To undertake such other reasonable tasks, commensurate with the role, that may from time to time be allocated


  • Working Hours:- Sunday to Thursday 22:00PM - 06:30AM



    Profile

    An Engineer, ideally with experience within an FMCG manufacturing environment, or placement experience in a factory/plant. The successful applicant will have:
  • Recognised electrical and/or mechanical engineering qualification
  • Ideally, a basic understanding of electrical engineering
  • Ideally, an understanding of a Manufacturing Plant & Machinery
  • Able to work under own supervision or as part of a team
  • Sound communication & training skills
