The Company

This artisan food business produces their own products as well as sourcing from artisan suppliers who share the same commitment to quality and sustainability. They are seeking a passionate and committed buyer who can work cross functionally to support their growth.

The Role

In this highly sought after and enticing role you will report in to the Head of Buying you’ll be accountable for the strategic management of designated key suppliers, negotiating contract terms regarding pricing, promotional support and exclusivity to achieve optimum commercial benefit on both sides. You’ll also initiate category reviews, evaluating product performance and driving continuous improvements concerning quality and pricing for new and existing product ranges. In addition you’ll play a key role in the progressive development of the Buying process to meet the business demands of the company as well as important customers. Furthermore you’ll liaise closely with NPD, Sales and Technical teams to successfully manage new product launches, delivering projects within time and cost parameters as well as using your extensive commercial and industry knowledge to propose recommendations for income generation and cost saving strategies.

The Person

Suit a bright and ambitious graduate with a Food or Business related degree, who has previous experience working in a similar role within short shelf life / high risk products.  You will be a naturally strong communicator with an ability to build and maintain excellent working relationships with the key Stakeholders in order to communicate ideas effectively and efficiently. Ideally, you will have an experience of bringing brand to life particularly working with sustainable and seasonal product ranges with tangible evidence of maximising category performance and delivering sales.
