You will be responsible for proactively managing all aspects of HSE related matters across UK sites. The role involves developing, directing, monitoring and maintaining the Group’s HSE activities, policies and procedures to protect staff and third parties, mitigate against risk and comply with HSE requirements and standards.
You will review and manage company HSE management systems in line with corporate systems i.e. Quality and ISO, monitor and promote cross site HSE surveillance and improvement initiatives, manage the HSE schedule to facilitate investigations, inspections, training and risk assessments, lead and manage Corporate Safety Officer activities, participate in site safety inspections plus maintain up to date knowledge of HSE legislation and best practice.
To be considered for the HSE Manager role, you be ideally educated to a degree level in a relevant food/scientific discipline and be a holder of NEBOSH National Diploma (essential).
You will have solid experience working in a tactical H&S role either at managerial or senior advisor level and have demonstrable knowledge of implementing ISO standards (particularly ISO 45001) and using risk assessment methodologies.
You will be flexible to travel regularly throughout the UK to visit laboratories, processing sites and company offices, therefore a full UK valid driving licence is required.
The HSE Manager job is based in the South Central / West Midlands region and is paying £35,000 - £40,000 according to individual skills and previous experience.
