Abattoir Manager

My client are one of the largest meat processors in the UK, dealing with multiple customers, the foodservice sector and further processors. An exciting new opportunity has arisen for an Abattoir Supervisor to join the busy Abattoir team. The main purpose of the role is to manage the day to day operations of the Abattoir and its staff.

The main duties are:

• Ensure targets defined by the Abattoir Manager are continually achieved
• Keep procedures up to date at all times and clearly communicate them to the staff
• Supervise all aspects of the slaughter process from delivering best dressed carcass to ensuring product yields are met at all times
• Ensure planned outputs are achieved precisely, economically and to the predetermined quality standards
• Ensure lost production time is kept to a minimum
• Ensure an exceptional level of internal/ external customer service through on time deliveries and minimal customer returns
• Liaise with the Abattoir Manager to identify the correct levels of staff required to fulfill customer demands, ensuring that labour costs are kept to a minimum wherever possible
• Effectively harness, motivate and develop their team in order to reduce staff turnover and encourage maximum productivity
• Involvement in the risk assessment process to reduce the risk to health and safety
• Ensure the team is wearing correct PPE at all times

Salary £37.300

Working Monday - Friday 7:30am-5pm.
