This growing plastic engineering business is looking for an Operations Manager to take over the day to day running of the business to improve efficiency's of operations whilst the MD focuses on their 3 year strategic plan and continued customer focus.

Client Details

Small business based in Gloucestershire with ambitious growth plans. the business provides solutions for a number of complex manufacturing operations. They operate in a wide range of manufacturing and processing industries such as food , automotive, aerospace, chemical, oil and gas . They have ambitions to grow 5% year on year over the next three years and expand their operations . They currently have two sites one based in Gloucestershire and the other in Scotland.

Description

They are are looking for an Operations Manager who wants to join a small business in Gloucestershire and help them grow. They need an individual who is flexible and open to getting fully immersed in the variety of tasks in their day. The nature of the business is that no two days are the same and as the responsible person on site you may be called to advise and action a variety of tasks that are not necessarily in your job description. They need an individual who is comfortable with this and excel in such an environment.

They are looking to hire an individual to bring in new ideas and improve productivity and professionalism. It is a hands on role where you have full autonomy and the scope of the role is what you make of it.

Profile

The Operations Manager needs to be:

  • Customer focused thinking. Customers are loyal and account for a large proportion of their increased business year on year, customer retention is critical .
  • Organised and systematic. They have good systems in place, however, as they grow these are likely to be improved upon, to ensure their continued commitment to delivering excellent service.
  • Persuading and influencing others. Small longstanding team who are knowledgeable, but are used to SME mindset.
  • Complex problem solving. Able to problem solve, taking into consideration the customer and business needs, follow through on any actions.
  • Commercial acumen. Understanding of business financial's, pricing and negotiation. Results focused. Want to achieve results and are motivated by their own and the teams achievements.
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing tools and techniques
  • Experience of managing in a manufacturing environment.
