Quality Supervisor

Our client, a multi-site Lancashire based family business, manufacturing and distributing Fresh Food, is looking for a Quality Supervisor for their site based in Greater Manchester. The successful candidate will work closely with the Quality Manager to implement and maintain quality systems and standards across the site.

Key Accountabilities are as follows:

• Assisting the Quality Manager to deliver the development of quality practices throughout the Company
• Maintaining audit deadlines, providing prompt updates and completing them in line with the schedule
• Tracking non-conformance, corrective and preventive actions, working with Managers to resolve any issues
• Reviewing procedures, policies and processes, reporting, recommending and implementing continuous improvements
• Controlling and managing quality system documents (procedures, systems, instructions) in accordance with business and accreditation requirements
• Playing an integral role in maintaining superior quality systems throughout the Company in collaboration with the relevant management team

Essential skills and experience include:

• Experience working in a food manufacturing environment in a Quality Assurance role
• People supervision/management experience ideal but not essential
• Knowledge of food safety standards (e.g. BRC / SALSA)  and HACCP
• A strong communicator who is able to identify the need for quality improvement and puts into place resolutions
• Driven by attention to detail and process
• Meets deadlines whilst uncompromising on quality
• Results orientated and takes pride in personal and team achievement
• Consistently raises the bar for performance and continuous improvement in a food environment

The working hours for this role are 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday with some flexibility to work additional hours and occasional weekends as required.   The salary is £competitive.
