Technical Compliance Officer

The role:
Our client is one of the largest producers of ornamental plants in the UK. As a group they have multiple divisions servicing different sectors of Horticulture. With an extensive network of global supply chain coupled with the world's leading breeders and genetic suppliers, their goal is to service the market with excellent quality product with unrivalled exclusive genetics.

This exciting opportunity will be based at their Head Office in Chichester. The Technical Compliance Officer will be responsible for delivering continuous improvement to the business via their Quality Management systems.

The Key responsibilities for this role:

• To manage all aspects of Quality Management Systems, via audit review and document control
• Internal audit of process and procedure, logging non-compliance and corrective action resolution
• Deal with all customer compliance questionnaires
• Be responsible for SEDEX membership and compliance to Ethical Audits
• External audit of suppliers and accreditation where practicable
• Champion continuous improvement throughout the business
• Manage Plant health pass porting requirements
• Keep on top and be responsible of any legislative requirements by affiliation to industry bodies, networking and professional institutions
• Compliance to meet Quality Management systems including; Environmental, waste, Chemicals, Plant Health and associated customer requirements
• Investigate and lead implementation of compliance to an agreed standard such as or similar to ISO9001

They are looking for an individual with:

• Self-motivation, who is efficient and methodical with excellent organisational skills
• An inquisitive mind, who is comfortable to research and investigate in order to resolve issues, document and pass on learnt information to the business, and ensure action is taken on any points raised
• Sound knowledge of MS packages with a high level of attention to detail (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
• Previous experience of working in a compliance role would be advantageous, as would knowledge of the horticultural industry
